The use of robots in the field of medicine is not new. Robots are being used, from gastric surgery to leaf stone treatment. But human hands are more reliant on critical parts of the body, especially for delicate operations such as eye surgery. The good news, however, is that for the first time in medical history, the robot has successfully operated the human eye.

According to research published in the scientific journal "Nature Biomedical Engineering" by researchers at the University of Oxford, 12 patients were successfully operated with the help of a robotic surgical system called PRECEYES.
During the operation, the eye was intended to remove the members of the retina of the eye so that the vision could be improved. For this, a robotic needle of only one mm diameter was inserted just below the eyeball. Who first disassembled the member from the retina and then removed it out of the eye.

Usually in the manual procedure, the surgeon rests on the very fine instruments and microscopes to perform this procedure. But there is a high probability of error. A little carelessness can lead to the loss of the human eye. But after the surgery is successful with the help of a robot, one can expect that the most delicate task can be performed with the utmost sensitivity and accuracy.
